From the Mayor’s Office:
MAYOR WILLIAM PEDUTO TO HOLD “MAYOR’S NIGHT IN”
Mayor and top administrators invite residents to City-County Building to share ideas, concerns
PITTSBURGH, PA – (May 12, 2014) This Wednesday evening Mayor William Peduto and his top staff will meet personally with residents to hear — and act upon — their ideas and concerns about city government issues.
During the “Mayor’s Night In” residents may meet one-on-one with Mayor Peduto at the City-County Building, and he will direct them to the appropriate administrator for follow-up.
On April 7 about 100 residents attended the first “Mayor’s Night Out” at a city recreation center in Beltzhoover. Similar events alternating between city communities and the Mayor’s office will be regularly scheduled through the year.
Holding the sessions follows the Mayor’s efforts to instill transparency and accountability into Pittsburgh city government, and follow such moves as making his daily schedule public, hiring top officials through the public Talent City process, creating a Community Affairs team that meets nightly with neighborhood groups, and creating a Bureau of Neighborhood Empowerment to focus strictly on struggling communities.
WHAT: Mayor William Peduto’s first “Mayor’s Night In”
WHERE: City-Council Chambers, 5th Floor, City-County Building
WHEN: 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014
