Walnut Capital is hosting a second meeting to discuss their proposed office building at Fifth Avenue and Halket Street. They will follow up on issues raised at the January 23rd meeting, propose strategies to address these concerns, and present a potential community benefits package.

University Talent Alliance Seeking Job Applicants

Carlow, CMU, Chatham, and Pitt are teaming up to launch a new jobs program called the University Talent Alliance, designed for residents from Oakland, Uptown, the Hill District, and Homewood. 
 
After completing a paid month-long training and mentoring program, residents will secure full-time employment at one of these universities as an administrative assistant. Four-year degrees are not required.

Community Land Trust (CLT) Movie Night

On Monday, February 11 at 6 pm in the Parkview Manor community room, OPDC and South Oakland Neighborhood Group (SONG) are hosting a dinner and movie night where we will show two short films about the history of Community Land Trusts and how they work.
