As part of the Greenway renovation, the broken-off benches need to be replaced. These benches had steel frames that made them attractive targets for vandals selling scrap steel. An alternative to steel frame benches are those typically found in city parks featuring reinforced concrete ends. Another alternative are benches constructed of recycled plastic planks which are both heavy and weatherproof.
