To encourage community participation in the Citywide Public Safety Meeting, taking place on Wednesday, October 21st at 6:30pm, the October 21 Oakwatch meeting has been cancelled. OPDC encourages community members to attend this important event to vocalize public safety concerns to Mayor Peduto and his public safety team.
Citywide Public Safety Meeting
Wednesday, October 21st at 6:30pm
The Pittsburgh Project
2801 North Charles Street
Pittsburgh 15214.
OPDC will help coordinate transportation for those who need a ride to the meeting, which will take place on Pittsburgh's North Side. If you need a ride or can provide a ride to an Oakland neighbor, please contact 412.621.7863 ext. 25 so they can match riders and drivers.
“Where do we go from here?” is the evening’s topic; the City of Pittsburgh invites you to learn to build collaborative strategies for community safety with new public safety programs and community-oriented initiatives.
Mayor William Peduto is the guest speaker, and light refreshments will be served at 6:30.
Other updates:
With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, OPDC reached out to public safety officers regarding plans for that weekend. Zone 4 is increasing their presence on the streets of Oakland that weekend, hiring additional officers who will concentrate on disruptive behavior and quality of life issues.
