Southbound Bloomfield Bridge Closure begins Wednesday, July 29, 2015
PennDOT District 11 is announcing the southbound Bloomfield Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will close to traffic beginning Wednesday, July 29, weather permitting. 
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, a 23 consecutive day, around-the-clock closure of southbound Bloomfield Bridge will occur.  The bridge will be closed to southbound traffic at Liberty Avenue.  Traffic will be detoured.
Posted Detour
  • From the northern end of the bridge, take Liberty Avenue east
  • Turn right onto Baum Boulevard
  • Turn right onto North Craig Street
  • North Craig Street becomes Bigelow Boulevard
  • Follow Bigelow Boulevard back to the Bloomfield Bridge
  • End detour
Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and expect changing traffic patterns.  Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.

As a follow up to the stakeholder meetings organized this past April by OBID, OTMA and partners, the City is now ready to come back to present final proposals and schedule for the Bike Share Network Plan which includes new dedicated bike lanes.

Fall Schedule:  September 1 – December 31
*Wednesdays & Saturdays Only*
Wednesdays  4:00pm-6:00pm
Saturdays  10:00am-12:00pm
STREAM is designed to teach youth social action skills through technology that better inform them about their environment, and their capacity to respond while providing a platform for an informal engagement strategy.
Their goal is to increase the green IQ of the entire family while teaching them a responsible approach to mitigating risk factors in their environment.

Enjoy exclusive access to the museum's permanent collection and hands-on spaces, explore special topics in science, and experience uniquely-themed, fun-filled entertainment and live music.
Registration for each event includes museum admission; beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres are available for purchase.
All After Dark guests must be at least 21 years old. Proper identification is required, and all guests must show ID at the door. Parking at the museum's six-level parking facility is available after 5 p.m. at a pay-on-entry fee of $6.

The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works advises that Panther Hollow Road – from the Boulevard of the Allies Ramp to Schenley Drive, along the neighborhood border of Squirrel Hill South and South Oakland – will be closed Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The Forestry Department will be cutting and pruning trees during the closure.

Call for 3 Board Members
The Pittsburgh Land Bank Board of Directors is seeking nominations for the final 3 spots on the Land Bank Board.  3 members have already been appointed and seated by the Mayor, and 3 members have been appointed and seated by City Council.  The remaining 3 members are to be appointed by this board. Additional information about the roles and responsibilities of the Pittsburgh Land Bank can be found here.
 In order to assure a diverse and representative board, the ordinance creating the Pittsburgh Land Bank requires a Citywide distribution of these three board members. All board members must be residents of the City of Pittsburgh.  Additionally,
  • One member must be a resident of Pittsburgh City Council Districts 2, 6, and 9
  • One member must be a resident of Pittsburgh City Council Districts 1,3, and 5
  • One member must be a resident of Pittsburgh City Council Districts 4, 7, and 8
Interested residents are encouraged to provide recommendations to the nomination committee no later than Monday, July 20 at Noon. Nominations may be for yourself or for another resident. Recommendations shall include:
  • Name and contact information
  • Resume (or Letter of Support if nominating another individual)
