CITY OF PITTSBURGH LAUNCHES BURGH'S EYE VIEW
Digital map provides integrated information including 311 requests, building permits, code violations, and public safety incidents

Furthering its commitment to transparency and open data, the City of Pittsburgh today unveiled Burgh’s Eye View, a new mobile web application giving residents instant visual access to important neighborhood data.

This mobile web application will allow citizens, for the first time, to gain visual insight into a wide range of data including incidents of crime and other public safety data, building permits and code violations, and “311” service requests.

“Transparency and openness are essential to ensuring a responsive City government and thriving neighborhoods,” said Mayor William Peduto. “Burgh’s Eye View brings that transparency directly to the citizens of Pittsburgh, and more importantly transforms the experience of open government – by making it truly accessible to everyone.”

This program assists citizens in the "golden hour” of emergency care following a traffic accident when they may not be able to communicate their needs themselves.  Placing a Yellow Dot decal in your vehicle’s rear window alerts first responders to check your glove compartment for vital information to ensure you receive the medical attention you need.  The program is a cooperative effort between PennDOT, the Dept. of Health and Aging, the State Police, the Turnpike Commission, first responders and local law enforcement.".

Join the Rotary Clubs of Bethel-St. Clair and Northern Allegheny, Pittsburgh Police, and Holy Assumption of St. Mary Orthodox Church this Thanksgiving for the annual “Get Stuffed with Love” event.

Help those in need in the community by cooking, assembling, and delivering food to feed the hungry on Thanksgiving Day. This year, we expect to feed approximately 3,500 residents in the City of Pittsburgh. Donations can be made up to Thanksgiving day, but donations are always accepted so even after Thanksgiving it would still go towards the program.

Contact your Community Resource Officer in the Zone in which you live.
Zone 4 — 412-422-6559: Officers Shannon Leshen, Tom Pauley & Dave Shifren

City To Unveil New Bldg & Permitting Tool For Residents

Warning: Undefined variable $output in /home2/oakcliff/public_html/wp-content/themes/mw-small-Oakcliffe/functions.php on line 103

Mayor William Peduto's administration is implementing a new mapping tool to make building permit and zoning information easy to search and view.

Legislation is being introduced to Pittsburgh City Council on Tuesday to purchase software and support services from "buildingeye," a firm that builds interactive city maps to track planning, permit, license and violation data.

Through the data visualization tool, residents, businesses, developers and others will be able to view and search a detailed map that shows all building and zoning data happening in every neighborhood citywide. The tool is currently used by city and county governments in San Francisco, Colorado, Oregon and elsewhere.
