 Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, Port Authority of Allegheny County, and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh have proposed a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system that connects Downtown Pittsburgh with Uptown, Oakland, and several other communities. 
  
In addition to enhancing public transit, this project has the potential to unlock development and contribute to neighborhood growth and link residents to job centers, educational opportunities, medical services, and cultural attractions. 
 
The project’s current estimated capital cost is $195 million.

Who: Riders of the 61, 71 and P3 series bus routes. Riders of the P7 and P71 series bus routes who cannot attend a meeting closer to their neighborhood

Online Tool To Provide Feedback To City Budget Planning

City launches interactive online tool for access to budget 
  • How are your tax dollars spent?
  • How would you spend City money?
  • How would you balance the budget? 
The City of Pittsburgh has launched an online interactive tool in order to engage constituents regarding the budget and collect feedback. 
 
The Office of Management and Budget announced the launch of Balancing Act, which includes features simulating users' own capital budget and operating budget, as well as a tax receipt tool to show an individual's contributions to the city, according to a news release. 
 
The tool also aims to allow for greater transparency and access for a better understanding of the process, according to the release. 
 
Click on the link below to use the tool and submit your budget as a recommendation to the city.

Oakland Planning and Development Corporation (OPDC) is launching a Community Land Trust (CLT) to preserve home ownership and guarantee affordability in Oakland’s residential neighborhoods.

PTC/URA Development Presentation At Sept SONG Mtg -Tue 9/5 6pm

​The URA has interest from a developer to build an office building inside the Pittsburgh Technology Center on 2nd Avenue. The proposal is for a 6-story 150,000 sf commercial office building. 
 
Their proposal to the URA, including results of community input process, are due September 15th, so they will be presenting at the South Oakland Neighborhood Group (SONG) meeting on Tue 9/5 at 6pm at Frazier Fieldhouse, with any interested members of the Oakcliffe Community Organization (OCO) attending as well.

Pittsburgh City Wide Steps Assessment Meeting

The City of Pittsburgh is currently engaged in an effort to assess City Steps in order to develop a way to strategically manage and repair these treasured assets. The Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) will hold a public meeting on July 27, 2017 from 6-8pm at the William Pitt Ballroom to introduce the project and kick-off the public outreach component of the study. Please distribute this meeting notice to interested community members and groups.

Tuesday, July 11th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. there will be a community celebration and open house where the City of Pittsburgh and project partners will reveal the public draft of the EcoInnovation District Plan. 
  
Snacks and refreshments will be provided and sign language interpreters will be present. 
 
Can’t make the meeting? The plan will also be available on the project website (http://www.ecoinnovationdistrict.org/) along with an online comment form. 
 
They hope you will consider coming and providing comments on the draft plan.
